چکیده
A new fossil myrmicine ant genus and species Lelejus venustus gen. et sp. nov. , are described from late Eocene Rovno amber (Priabonian, 33.9–37.8 Ma). This differs all extant extinct Myrmicinae genera known the European ambers in combination of morphological features, particular: 13-segmented antennae with a very short scape filiform funiculus; 3-segmented maxillary 2-segmented labial palps; well-developed mandibles dentate masticatory margin; scutum broad notauli; forewings closed cells 1+2r, 3r mcu, cell approximately same length as 1+2r; free vein M branches off RS at midlength between junction cross-vein 2r-rs m-cu; cu-a is located far base wing, so branch 1M+Cu much longer than 2M+Cu. The taxonomic position discussed.

A new species of the genus Disogmus Förster (Hymenoptera, Proctotrupoidea, Proctotrupidae) from the Eocene Rovno amber
Disogmus rasnitsyni Kolyada & Perkovsky, sp. n. is described from a fossil inclusion of Late Eocene amber (Ukraine). The new species is most similar to Disogmus basalis (Thomson, 1857), in particular, in the shape of the tyloids and the general shortening of the segments of antennae, but distinctly differs from it and the other species of the genus by having tyloids on flagellar segments 2-4 co...
متن کاملForaging behavior in the ant genus Messor (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Myrmicinae)
The genus Messor consists of 113 species of seed harvesting ants that are found in grasslands, semi-arid areas and savannahs in both the Old and New World. A full spectrum of foraging strategies occurs in Messor, ranging from individual to group foraging, with the latter having evolved several times. This paper reviews foraging strategies and the underlying behavioral mechanisms found in specie...

The genus Palaeoboreochlus Baranov et Andersen, n. gen. is erected based on P. inornatus Baranov et Andersen, n. sp. described from a male found in Late Eocene Rovno amber. The new genus groups with Boreochlus Edwards in the tribe "Boreochlini".
متن کاملRevision of the Middle American clade of the ant genus Stenamma Westwood (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Myrmicinae)
Stenamma is a cryptic "leaf-litter" ant genus that occurs in mesic forest habitats throughout the Holarctic region, Central America, and part of northwestern South America (Colombia and Ecuador). The genus was thought to be restricted primarily to the temperate zone, but recent collecting efforts have uncovered a large radiation of Neotropical forms, which rival the Holarctic species in terms o...
متن کاملRevision of the fungus-farming ant genus Sericomyrmex Mayr (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Myrmicinae)
The genus Sericomyrmex Mayr (Formicidae: Myrmicinae: Attini) is a Neotropical group of fungus-farming ants known for its problematic taxonomy, caused by low morphological variability across the species, vague and old species descriptions, and an outdated and incomplete key published in 1916. Recent molecular studies revealed that Sericomyrmex is the product of a rapid recent radiation, with a d...
